Our 5th anniversary meeting was a huge success - the room was packed! Not only did our video iChat with special guest Philip Hodgetts go extremely well, Orlando Luna from Apple also stopped by to show us Final Cut Server. We talked for a bit about announcements from NAB and what those atteneded thought was interesting. We finished off the evening by giving away over $2500 worth software, books, and shirts. Unfortunately the hardware we lined up to give away didn't make it in time, so hopefully we'll have that to give away in the future.

 

Make sure you check out Philip's new software, The Assistant Editor. It looks to be a very powerful tool for exploring different editing paths or story lines and could save large amounts of time at the same time.

We will not be meeting May, so as you can see above our next meeting will be June 25th. No, I didn't get the wrong day on the calendar. We are moving our meetings to Wednesday nights. Hopefully that doesn't cause anyone problems.
